SPIRIT OF TASMANIA VEHICLE FARES

Take your car from $79* each way

Spirit of Tasmania offers the convenience of being able to take your own car on holiday with you.

You'll not only enjoy the freedom to discover Tasmania at your own pace but you'll also save money by avoiding airport parking, taxis and car hire in Tasmania. And of course, packing is so much easier - just load up your car with extra suitcases, fishing rods, golf clubs, whatever you like!

The Spirit of Tasmania fares shown below include the Bass Strait Passenger Vehicle Equalisation Scheme rebate of $188 for a standard car and up to $374 for a campervan, motorhome or car towing a caravan. All vehicles are subject to classification on arrival.

How to measure your car and caravan/trailer for correct Spirit of Tasmania fares and boarding pass requirements.

The total cost for your car and caravan or trailer is determined by measuring the overall length of both units.

To work out the cost, measure the distance from the front of the car (including the bulbar) to the back of your caravan or trailer.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Vehicle lengths are rounded up to the next whole metre. For example if your car and caravan or motorhome equals a total of 11.1 metres, it would be classed as 12 metres. It is crucial that you get your measurements correct as to under-estimate will incur additional costs for you and if space is "tight" then you could be denied boarding (boarding pass requirement).

Conditions apply & these can change without notice and with Spirit of Tasmania they frequently do. Cabin accommodation is based on a twin share minimum. Surcharge for sole use applies. Share cabins are available on request but cannot be booked online. Cabins for mobility impaired passengers are available on request. Amendment and cancellation fees may apply to some fare types. Prices are subject to change without notice. Spirit of Tasmania endeavoured to ensure all fare prices were correct at time of publication (Feb 2011) and can accept no responsibility for subsequent change or withdrawal of prices or details shown. Ride your motorbike around Tassie

There's no better way to take in Tasmania's dramatic landscape than from your own motorbike or bicycle.

The Spirit of Tasmania fares shown below include the Bass Strait Passenger Vehicle Equalisation Scheme rebate of $93 for a motorbike or a motorbike with sidecar and $26 for push bikes.

Pets/Kennels

A limited number of kennels are available at a cost of $22 per pet. Enquire at time of booking.

If you are planning on travelling with a pet, it must be booked into a kennel. TT Line does supply water and passengers are requested to provide pet blankets but no food for consumption during the voyage.

You are not permitted access to your pet during the voyage. We recommend pets be appropriately vaccinated against domestic pet related diseases. There must be documentary proof of Hydatid Tape Worm treatment for dogs entering Tasmania.

  • Only licensed drivers are eligible for the accompanied vehicle rate.

  • Vehicle fares indicated apply to motor vehicles registered for use on public roads and are designed primarily for the carriage for passengers.

  • Vehicles not registered as a campervan or motor home and have a width greater than 2.0 metres and/or registered gross vehicle weight of greater than 2900kg will be subject to classification and freight rates may apply.

  • Additional metre surcharge applied to each excess metre or part thereof. Enquire at time of booking.

  • Vehicles travelling on a permit are to comply with the aforementioned and a certificate of roadworthiness must be provided at time of check-in.

  • Towed vehicles rate is determined by the total overall length of both units. Please refer to non-standard car rates.

  • Conditions apply to trailers that are not registered as a campervan or caravan and carriage of LPG Cylinder bottles. Enquire at time of booking. (all subject to change without notice).
