Travel With A Cause Inc (TWAC) t/a Australian Discount Travel & Tours is a not-for-profit organisation that by law, donates 100% of its annual company profit to various projects throughout the world. Initially confined to sponsoring humanitarian projects and emergency relief in OECD-recognised "Developing Countries", TWAC has expanded its mission to include humanitarian works (as approved by TWAC's Board of Directors) in the Developed World too and other mission-based works.

Travel With A Cause Inc is a fully registered and insured international & domestic Not-For-Profit travel agency. Travel With A Cause Inc. is also a registered charitable overseas aid organisation that distributes goods, services & financial assistance to OECD-approved "Developing Countries" and which is now funding humanitarian projects in various Developed Countries like Australia too. TWAC is now able to assist projects in Australia like supporting Aboriginal communities & other missions-based (we support Youth With A Mission whenever people booking through us nominate them as beneficiary or example) or "love-driven" works. Our projects vary over time but are best summed up as "love motivated". We choose to pay all debts except the debt of love - whether it's in feeding the poor, empowering the under-educated, supporting Christian missions, assisting projects designed to break the back of poverty, disaster relief, health services, and funding other humanitarian & human rights work around the world. We are not restrained by geographical boundaries (other than those boundaries imposed on us by regional authorities). We retain a world-wide focus in our corporate mission.

This Association is a Not For Profit International Travel Agency & International Relief Agency.

Our company works not only in travel but it also carries capacity to accept direct donations from the public in order to distribute through its trust fund, financial assistance to its many projects.

Our development activities form part of a comprehensive, economic, social, cultural and political process aimed at constant improvement of the wellbeing of the entire population and of all individuals, on the basis of their active, free and meaningful participation in development, and in the fair distribution of the benefits that result from this process.

Many of our projects constitute development activities aimed to produce benefits that will endure (a long term legacy) after our development assistance have ceased.

Our overseas relief programs ensure provision of basic support to people in emergency situations. These are undertaken by organisations such are ARMS (Australian Relief & Mercy Services - part of Youth With A Mission [YWAM[). We specialise in YWAM travel and YWAM group travel and one of our casual staff members is a well known YWAM leader, Christine Lucerne. Christine is vastly experienced in missions-based travel bookings and her husband Rob Lucerne, who is the Tasmanian State Director, YWAM also provides advice and friendship with us. Rob and Christine Lucerne work from the Hobart YWAM base. You only have to ask us to donate to one of our sponsored YWAM bases when booking our travel and our audit trails will do the rest. We donate 100% of our Net Profits (by law) to various humanitarian and/or mission based projects around the world, including of course YWAM.

Some of our projects are located in developing countries, as defined by the Australian Government's Department of Immigration and Foreign Affairs through its related AusAid Department, that conforms to the list of countries ratified by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) approved "developing countries" lists. Note: The Australian Tax Office (ATO) has granted us Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status since 22nd May 2006. This means we are able to offer Tax Deductible status to some of our projects. Please call us for details for read below for additional information. The related ABN is: 90 946 095 079 Likewise we choose to server those organisations that we consider "make a difference" in countries other than those designated by the OECD as "Developing Countries". Hence our mission includes our ability to sponsor missions undertaken by various groups undertaking services & support to Australian indigenous groups, Camp Quality, YWAM, Fusion International and others. Please ask our Board for details about the projects currently sponsored.

Whether or not you choose to travel to a developing country (and of course we can arrange this for you), just by booking any travel through our association, you will experience the satisfaction that when you travel, you will be assisting people somewhere in the world who our directors perceive are in great need.

What and who do we sponsor?

Our mission is to serve others who live in poverty in developing countries. Our relief efforts focus on disadvantaged groups (as opposed to individuals) who are in dire need of our assistance and without such aid would face untoward medical, nutritional, social and/or financial hardship. For this reason we sponsor & support schools, orphanages, and small communities as opposed to individuals and/or family enterprises. The only exception where we might consider sponsorship of a small business is in cases where without our aid the issue would become one of life or death (for example a widow in a developing country who would not be afforded any government welfare assistance and who is without capacity to feed her children might well qualify for aid to commence a small farm or business venture sufficient to feed her children).

Tax Deductibility (Australian Residents) Note: we currently offer Tax Deductible receipts for donations made to several of our projects. This status (Deductible Gift Recipient - [DGR]) was granted to us from the Australian Taxation Department (ATO) as from 22nd May 2006. Our ABN for our Tax Deductible Overseas Aid Development Fund is 90 946 095 079. This information may be confirmed on the Australian Government's Australian Business Register. Once at the site a search for "Travel With A Cause Overseas Aid Fund" will confirm theses important regulatory details.

Note: Tax-deductible donations incur an administration fee of 10%. This administration fee goes to our over-arching DGR-affiliated organisation (World Relief Australia Inc.), through which we are afforded our DGR status. World Relief Australia Inc provides Travel With A Cause (and numerous other not-for-profit Australian Aid Organisations) administrative, legal and advisory services in order for smaller not-for-profit charities to obtain and maintain DGR status with the Australian Tax Office.

Wholesale Prices:

A number of our tours are offered at wholesale prices. This means you not only receive personal satisfaction that when you book your travel through us you are assisting developing nations, but you also get value for money. However, we do ask you to consider donating the savings gained when you take advantage of our wholesale prices (see Conferences, Tasmanian Coach Tours, Queensland Tours for example).

Voluntary donations are not a pre-requisite to utilise our services. We simply ask you to consider it. Even if you are unable to donate, the very fact that you choose to book through us means that someone, somewhere in a developing country will benefit. If you believe your organisation's own projects would gain recognition from our Board please submit to us an application. We note that in order to commence project sponsorship we require an annual air-travel account of at least $30,000 p/a. This condition is subject to change without notice.

The way to sponsorship is relatively simple:

Firstly, we require an application from your organisation briefly outlining its background and stating its aims, objectives and purposes.

It would be useful if your organisation clarified its stance/policies on areas which take into account the following policies of our own company and which include:

Once we receive your application we will make a decision on sponsorship.

If approved, for sponsorship your organisation will be allocated a sponsorship code (called a "Tag").

Once approved and the tag allocated, all your organisation has to do is to inform its members, family & friends about our sponsorship offer and inform these persons about the "tag" name.

Whenever a person books travel through us, they only need mention the tag at the time of booking and we will automatically track the commissions earned on those sales. During the year, the Board meets to evaluate profits generated. Commensurate with the profits derived from your "tagged" bookings profits will be disbursed back to your organisation.

Note: Presently Tag sponsorship can only be utilised when booking via phone or via email, or fax with one of our consultants, as we have no way of adequately auditing online bookings made from our website other than if you email us with your booking number.

We would consider such behaviour unethical. In order to assuage the fear of potential customers concerning this issue, we permit the "tag" to be nominated after final quotation but before deposit. In this way, your members can be assured of receiving from us the very best discount travel quotations.

We have in place a sophisticated tracking system to ensure that all sponsorship bonuses are paid. Our company is fully audited and fully insured.

Clearly, the tag system works better if your organisation efficiently promotes our agency as the preferred travel agency of choice. In this way, we increase our business and as a result, proportional sponsorship automatically flows to your organisation.
