TWAC's Mission Statement

This Association is a Not For Profit International Travel Agency & International Relief Agency.

Our company works not only in travel but it also carries capacity to accept direct donations from the public in order to distribute through its trust fund, financial assistance to its many projects.

Our development activities form part of a comprehensive, economic, social, cultural and political process aimed at constant improvement of the wellbeing of the entire population and of all individuals, on the basis of their active, free and meaningful participation in development, and in the fair distribution of the benefits that result from this process.

Many of our projects constitute development activities aimed to produce benefits that will endure (a long term legacy) after our development assistance have ceased.

Our overseas relief programs ensure provision of basic support to people in emergency situations. We are able to cater for large group travel plans and we regularly support groups travelling nationally and internationally.

Some of our projects are located in developing countries, as defined by the Australian Government's Department of Immigration and Foreign Affairs through its related AusAid Department, that conforms to the list of countries ratified by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) approved "developing countries" lists. Note: The Australian Tax Office (ATO) has granted us Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status since 22nd May 2006. This means we are able to offer Tax Deductible status to some of our projects. Please call us for details for read below for additional information. The related ABN is: 90 946 095 079 Likewise we choose to server those organisations that we consider "make a difference" in countries other than those designated by the OECD as "Developing Countries". Hence our mission includes our ability to sponsor missions undertaken by various groups undertaking services & support to Australian indigenous groups and others in need. Whether or not you choose to travel to a developing country (and of course we can arrange this for you), just by booking any travel through our association, you will experience the satisfaction that when you travel, you will be assisting people somewhere in the world who our directors perceive are in great need.

What and who do we sponsor?

Our mission is to serve others who live in poverty in developing countries. Our relief efforts focus on disadvantaged groups (as opposed to individuals) who are in dire need of our assistance and without such aid would face untoward medical, nutritional, social and/or financial hardship. For this reason we sponsor & support schools, orphanages, and small communities as opposed to individuals and/or family enterprises. The only exception where we might consider sponsorship of a small business is in cases where without our aid the issue would become one of life or death (for example a widow in a developing country who would not be afforded any government welfare assistance and who is without capacity to feed her children might well qualify for aid to commence a small farm or business venture sufficient to feed her children).

Tax Deductibility (Australian Residents) Note: we currently offer Tax Deductible receipts for donations made to several of our projects. This status (Deductible Gift Recipient - [DGR]) was granted to us from the Australian Taxation Department (ATO) as from 22nd May 2006. Our ABN for our Tax Deductible Overseas Aid Development Fund is 90 946 095 079. This information may be confirmed on the Australian Government's Australian Business Register. Once at the site a search for "Travel With A Cause Overseas Aid Fund" will confirm theses important regulatory details.

Note: Tax-deductible donations incur an administration fee of 10%. This administration fee goes to our over-arching DGR-affiliated organisation (World Relief Australia Inc.), through which we are afforded our DGR status. World Relief Australia Inc provides Travel With A Cause (and numerous other not-for-profit Australian Aid Organisations) administrative, legal and advisory services in order for smaller not-for-profit charities to obtain and maintain DGR status with the Australian Tax Office.
