Spirit of Tasmania will increase passenger and vehicle fares for bookings effective 1 November 2008 due to fuel delivery charges and the substantial reduction in the value of the Australian dollar. Scheduled passenger fares will increase by 1.5 per cent, the fare for a standard vehicle will increase by $7 while all other vehicle fares will increase by three percent. Passengers with existing bookings will not be affected by the increase as booked fares will be honoured.

From 1 July 2008, a fuel surcharge is included in all Spirit of Tasmania passenger fares. The fuel surcharge will be determined by the cost of fuel and is subject to change on a monthly basis. Passengers with current tickets will not be affected by the new surcharges as these will apply only to new ticket purchases.
The fuel surcharge will be automatically included into your passenger fare when booking. The current surcharge is $12 per person, per sailing leg.
Note: The fuel surcharge is based on the published MOPS HSFO 180cSt price & converted based on current exchange rates to $AUD.
