Our Policies & Conditions

Price Beat Policy*

1. Price Beat on  Airfares*

2. Price Beat on Packages*

3. Price Beat on Cruises*

*Price Beat Policy  means that if you bring us a competitor's quote and the fares mentioned in that quote are still available (that is, if the class of fares or special ticket prices are not already sold out), then we guarantee to undercut the original quote you've obtained. This is providing the original quote is not a mistake by the original travel agent and that the fares quoted on are still current. This policy applies only to first time comparison quotations and we will not continue to price cut past the first quote we provide you on any particular quote obtained. We do not offer Price Beat on domestic sale fares prices such as those offered by various airlines including Virgin blue and Jetstar. Bring us a legitimate quote from any of our competitors and providing the fare bases are still available we'll undercut it by as much as $50 pp (international flights) and by as much as $25.00 pp (Australian domestic packages).

NOTE, disclaimer:  Where any conditions stipulated on this website contravene the conditions stipulated here, then the conditions stipulated here take precedence in usual circumstances over other potentially conflicting conditions.  Notwithstanding our utmost endeavours to present accurately and fairly the terms and conditions of any "specials", "deals", "discount policies", "seasonal dates" and similar, the rate of change in the Travel Industry makes it impossible to guarantee that terms and conditions so stipulated on this site will be current during the time of any one booking or number of bookings. This being the case, the final decision on discounts offered, terms and conditions implied, will lay with the final and unequivocal authority with the Board,  Travel With A Cause Inc, T/A Australian Discount Travel & Tours and, Know-How Travel.

General Conditions, Prices etc.

All Prices including Internet fares requested for booking are quoted on the following conditions:

  • Visas & Passports NOTE: It is a condition of booking that you MUST read this before booking ANY international travel or any Cruise

  • Prices shown on this website are strictly notated on the basis that we reserve the right to change prices and/or stated conditions without notice.

  • Prices subject to availability for the quoted airfare. Note: we do not control the number of "special" seats released by airlines which are sometimes relatively few.

  • We may require up to 48 hours notice to process Internet tickets. You will be advised by confirmation itinerary (via email) once your e-ticket is confirmed. Passengers who fail to await our confirmation email and purchase direct from airlines after not having tickets confirmed through us will be charged a $55.00 fee for any unconfirmed itineraries and/or tickets held. This means for example that even if you appear to have been successful at booking a Qantas Red E Deal or other Qantas fare the ticket is not valid until confirmed by us to you in writing via email.

  • Prices subject to availability and seasonal surcharges will apply depending on dates of travel & the relative availability of various fare prices.

  • Prices are per person & unless otherwise specified, accommodation is based on twin share.

  • Prices include taxes, levies and government charges on direct route only (unless otherwise specified). Please check with staff about additional charges that may apply to certain segments and/or certain package or other advertised deals.

  • Depending on flight-routing additional international taxes and charges may apply - please check with one of our consultants before booking as additional local taxes & miscellaneous charges may also apply.

  • Virgin releases a number of "Happy Hour" fares to a selection of domestic destinations, which are only available by booking online. Remember though, that these "Dollar Fares" refer only to a limited number of fares released for one dollar and there are other charges, taxes and fees in addition to the actual airfare price itself. So there is usually no such thing as flying from point A to point B for "one dollar", because airport taxes, surcharges, fees, levies and miscellaneous charges can add up to a considerable amount. Similarly, using Frequent Flyer Points via domestic and international air carriers carries with it additional charges for taxes, fees and local airport levies & charges etc. So even using frequent flyer points incurs COST to you, the consumer.

  • All prices quoted are strictly limited and subject to change without notice (until full deposit is paid & received).

  • Spirit of Tasmania/Spirit of Tas and/or TT-Line standard wholesale prices are discounted by us by up to $5.00 per booking each way for bookings made by single persons, couples, and family groups on standard "Flexi Fares" only. We do this by passing to our consumers fare prices we gain directly from Spirit of Tasmania and at point of sale we do not add to those fare prices additional booking or service fee, charges and/or retail loadings of our own. In the case of Spirit of Tasmania discounts, we will discount each flexi Fare at point of sale by up to $5.00 per booking per sector only if the website "hit" is quoted at the time of making your booking with us. We reserve the right to charge service fees for any changes, amendments and/or cancellations associated with any booking made through us. Please refer to our service fees page for further details. Please note that wholesale fares for Spirit of Tasmania are defined as those Flexi Fare prices released by Spirit of Tasmania, and/or Spirit of Tas (or otherwise known as "TT-Line") to licensed travel retailers and licensed/authorised travel wholesalers for release to the general public via such agencies and these fares are also released directly via Spirit of Tasmania (TT-Line) to the general public via means of phone, fax or Internet bookings. However, we are firm in our commitment to discount these Flexi Fares providing that you are travelling in a small group, or as a single or couple or as a family and provided furthermore, that you or your family representative quote(s) to us your "website 'hit'" on our website at www.knowhowtravel.com.au at the time you make your booking with us. If in any doubt at all about the terms and conditions of this matter please do not hesitate to call us on our Spirit of Tasmania/Spirit of Tas/TT-Line discount booking hot line. If you have any questions or require any clarification whatsoever about this matter we will be most content to clarify issues with you. We are committed to transparency in our dealings with our valued clients and our staff will be happy to assist you with your questions and/or enquiry. Note, it is a condition of booking with us that you agree that you have read and understood our booking conditions including your acceptance of and understanding of our service fee policy and guidelines. Note: To gain our special discount offers (such as TT Line, Spirit of Tasmania, Cruises, Qantas deals etc) you must quote your website hit at the time of booking to receive the discounts. Retrospective claims for such discounts are not permitted neither do we automatically provide discounts unless you quote the website hit at the time of booking.

  • Travel With A Cause Inc utilises the services of paid staff, consultants, and volunteers. By necessity, Travel With A Cause Inc reserves the right to enter into commercial agreements with various wholesalers, and specialists that by their nature are profit-making. Hence, when booking through this website the nature of our business relationships will mean that a proportion of your funds will go to profit-making companies and/or to pay our staff costs and other recurrent costs such as rental and other commercial activities. However, once company profits are finalised (after expenses) all profits by law go to developing countries.

  • International Travellors must read the conditions associated with our Visa and Passports information page and agree to these strict conditions before booking through us. Additionally, please read carefully the following information (directly below) concerning court appearances and/or convictions:

  • Criminal or Court Records (Visa applications):

It is a condition of booking through us that you disclose fully any criminal or court-related incidents that might jeopardise your entry into foreign countries. For example, countries such as Canada and the USA may well prohibit entry to anyone with a single marijuana-related or seemingly minor alcohol-related or similar minor "summary" conviction. Even if no conviction is recorded a country might refuse entry and therefore you must disclose or risk severe and permanent disappointment. Failure to disclose may even result in criminal penalty. Be very sure that you disclose all information before travelling.

Note: the production of a valid, current visa does not guarantee entry to your country of choice. Used in special circumstances, it is the prerogative of any country to turn you away - even if your visas are apparently in order. Some countries will even refuse you entry to their waters (on cruise ships for example) if your visas are not in order or for other reasons. Many countries demand "Multiple Visas" to be issued for a single itinerary. Hence you must ensure that the type of visa you hold is appropriate for your travel itinerary. For this reason, it is all the more important to hold travel insurance, which may cover you in the event of a failed entry attempt (conditions apply for successful lodgement of claims).

Passports and Visas

Note: Many (international) destinations require the issue of Visas before you travel. Obtaining the correct Visas is your sole responsibility. You must ensure that you double-check dates and applicability when your Visas arrive because mistakes can be made by issuing countries. Likewise the validity and currency of your Passport is your sole responsibility. Australian citizens require at least 6 months currency on their passport before re-entry into Australia is permitted. You must ensure that your documentation is up to date and in order before you travel. See our Visas and Passports information page for more information.

'Safer Travel'-Top 10 Tips

  1. Read up on where you're going. Check on safety and related developments at your destination by reading country-specific travel advisories available from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/.
  2. Consult a 'safe travel' partner organisation for professional advice on in-country travel, accommodation and good travel preparation.
  3. Get the necessary visas for the country or countries you are visiting but be aware that a visa does not guarantee entry.
  4. Take out appropriate travel insurance to cover hospital treatment, medical evacuation and the kind of activities you plan to take. Overseas medical costs are expensive and Medicare and Australian private health insurance will not cover you outside Australia.
  5. For longer stays in a country, or where the security situation is volatile, register your details at the local Australian embassy, high commission or consulate, or online at www.orao.dfat.gov.au/orao/weborao.nsf/homepage?Openpage. This will help us help you in an emergency.
  6. Know where to get help if you're in trouble. Ensure you have the contact details of the local Australian embassy, high commission or consulate in the country in which you're travelling.
  7. Keep in regular contact with friends and relatives back in Australia by phone or email and leave a travel itinerary.
  8. Check with health professionals for information on recommended vaccinations or other precautions.
  9. Protect your personal information and make copies of your passport details, insurance policy, travellers cheques and credit card numbers. Carry one copy and leave a copy with someone at home. Carry additional copies of your passport photo with you.
  10. Don't carry illicit drugs. In some countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand drug offences carry the death penalty.
